As parents, artists, and educators, we started this company because we wanted to spend more time with our own children enjoying the arts.
As educators, we also know that exposure to high-quality arts education is proven to increase school attendance, critical thinking, literacy, and communication skills. Unfortunately, when school budgets are squeezed, these types of programs are often the first to go.
At Marky, we want to work towards full access to the arts for kids everywhere. Here are just a few ways we give back.
We support free high-quality family arts programming at museums like the UCLA Hammer Museum, including sponsoring the recent Kids Art Museum Project (K.A.M.P). Marky teamed up with artist Glenn Kaino and comedian Will Ferrell to create a limited edition artwork. Cast from Will’s hand making the peace sign, proceeds from this wax artwork benefit family programs at the Hammer Museum. Learn more here.
Marky is working with DonorsChoose.org to fund arts in classrooms, because we know there are awesome teachers out there doing amazing things - they just need the materials to do it.
